Breathe Montblanc Festival on May 20, 21 and 22. This is one of the tourist novelties of this 2022 that has been working with since the beginning of the year.
Breathe Montblanc Festival wants to be a great showcase of the tourist activities that usually carry out the members of the association Breathe Montblanc and, by the way, it wants to favor the activity in the lodgings and restaurants of the territory. During the three days, a range of 35 very varied proposals has been programmed, both in terms of content and the target audience.
They have focused on four time slots: Friday afternoon, Saturday morning and afternoon, and Sunday morning. They will not only take place in the municipality of Montblanc. Barberà de la Conca, Blancafort and Vilaverd are also planned.
The walks will play a major role, enhancing outdoor experiences. There will be many and varied: on flora, on astronomy, on urban geology, among vineyards, through the medieval core, on foot, on horseback, in a carriage, with children, with wine tasting, ferrata routes, etc.
There will also be more busy activities: family workshops on crib figures, cave paintings, medieval mills, cooking, yoga, wine tasting, etc. Most of the proposals have limited capacity, so it will be very important to make the reservation in advance through www.respiramontblanc.cat where you will also find the final program. All this will be activated in the coming days. There are also four activities for which no prior reservation is required.
The Breath Montblanc Festival will have a joint central event on Saturday, May 21, from 6 to 9 pm, in the Plaça 1 d’Octubre. There will be a sample of wines from the five wineries included in the project (Carlania Celler, Gerida, Josep Foraster, Más de la Zapatero and Vins de Piedra), gastronomic tastings with Fet a la Conca, and the music session Cara B, gira el mundo and turns the plate with Alejandro Bonanit.
The closing of the festival will also be with music, in this case with three simultaneous musical vermouth that will take place in the hermitage of Sant Josep, in Barberà de la Conca and in Vilaverd, on Sunday 22 May, from 12 noon.
During that weekend, the member accommodations of the Breath Montblanc association will offer their customers a basket of products and discount vouchers. The event served to present the festival’s poster, the work of the Montblanc studio Crea-2, an image without stridency, which conveys calm, a feeling of open space and contact with nature. The promotion campaign of the festival is reinforced with the edition of a video by the Montblanc director Víctor Torija.
The Respira Montblanc project was launched in June 2020 at the suggestion of the private tourism sector and has the support of Montblanc City Council, through the Tourist Office. It aimed to improve the management, promotion and marketing of the destination of tourism from the joint action.
That same year the association was created, and the project began to receive recognition. First, it was the Jordi Cartanyà Award, granted by the Tourism Board of the Tarragona Provincial Council, for the best innovative and creative proposal that contributes to a sustainable tourism development on the Costa Daurada. Later, it was the subject of talks in the framework of the Discovery Meeting, in November 2021, and the Conference of Tourist Offices of Catalonia, a week ago.
The announcement of the Breath Montblanc Festival was made just after the end of the annual assembly of the association, during which the members received the annual badge that guarantees the fulfillment of commitments that aim to position Montblanc as a responsible, sustainable and competitive.
Currently, the association has 25 members of the tourism sector, from various fields of activity: accommodation, catering, guide, organization of events, museums, artisanal food and wine production, etc.
They are located not only in Montblanc (Montblanc, Rojals and Prenafeta), there are also those of Barberà de la Conca, Blancafort and Vilaverd, as for their proximity and close relationship with the tourist product have long been promoted taking advantage of the Montblanc brand Medieval.
