Located in the south-west of the Conca de Barberà and at the foot of the Prades Mountains and Poblet Nature Park, the municipality is known for the Monastery of Poblet, an architectonic ensemble that is closely linked to the history of Catalonia and declared World Heritage by the UNESCO. The fields of vines, glass, nature and heritage are the municipality’s main attractions with two centres: Vimbodí-Poblet. It is the starting point for many excursions. Many festivals are celebrated throughout the year but we would highlight ancient music festival, organ concerts and VITRUM, the artisan glass festival, among others.
Muntanyes de Prades was the second inland resort to be awarded the Family Holiday Destination seal. Consisting of the municipalities of l’Espluga of Francolí, Vallclara, Vilaverd, Vilanova de Prades and Vimbodí-Poblet, Alcover, Arbolí, La Febró, Capafonts, Mont-ral and Prades, the area is noted for its natural environment, a chain of mountains running just inland, that is ideal for outings with children.
