Montblanc is the capital of the Conca de Barberà and it is a medieval town located in the River Francolí valley, at the foot of the Prades Mountains. It was declared a Monumental and Artistic Site in 1947, having one of the best conserved walled enclosures in Catalonia. Montblanc’s old town is full of mediaeval buildings. We would highlight the churches of Santa Maria la Major and SantMiquel; the carrer dels Jueus (the Jews’Street), the palaces of Josa and Alenyà, the old bridge, the hospital and chapel of Santa Magdalena and the plaza Major, among others. Among the festive events, we would highlight the Mediaeval Week of the Legend of Sant Jordi, Brickània, Clickània, Terrània and Safrània.
There are many hiking trails around Montblanc that you can do and enjoy.
