The Tossal Gros de Miramar protected area is located on the border between the regions of Conca de Barberà and Alt Camp, and between the rivers Gaià and Francolí. The Space constitutes a bridge between the central prelittoral system, in the east, and the Prades mountains, in the west. It is also an important passage for migratory birds of prey and incorporates a geozone (carboniferous volcanic rocks of the Serra de Miramar) and a geotope ( Figuerola Spilites).
